What is a Veterinary Feed Directive (VFD) and which products require one?

A Veterinary Feed Directive is a written statement from a licensed veterinarian that authorizes the use of a medically important antibiotic in animal feed. Federal regulations require a valid VFD before Harris Distributing can sell certain feeds containing antibiotics such as Chlortetracycline (CTC). Products requiring a VFD are clearly labeled in our product listings. Speak with your herd veterinarian to obtain a VFD before ordering those products.

How do I set up a Mix 30 wheel tank?

Mix 30 wheel tanks are designed for minimal maintenance. Place the tank in a location accessible to your cattle and fill it through the top opening. Cattle lick through the wheel, which controls intake and limits waste. We sell both the 300-gallon four-wheel tank and the 150-gallon three-wheel tank. We submit samples to Rock River Labs for feed and forage analysis, manure and fertilizer analysis, lawn and garden soil analysis, and wildlife food plot analysis. Testing helps you understand what nutrients your hay, silage, or soil is actually delivering so you can balance rations and optimize your input spending. Stop in or call to drop off a sample.
